Introduction to Tiger Leaping Gorge
Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Spot (English name) is located in Tiger Leaping Gorge Town, Shangri-La City, Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province. It is one of the deepest canyons in the world and one of the ten most beautiful canyons in China. The south bank of the Tiger Leaping Gorge Scenic Area is the Yulong Snow Mountain, and the north bank is the Haba Snow Mountain. Tightly bound by the mountains on both sides of the river, the river is only more than 50 meters wide after flowing into the gorge. At its narrowest point, tigers and leopards can leap through it, hence the name Tiger Leaping Gorge. The Tiger Leaping Gorge has steep valley slopes and stands on cliffs, showing a "V"-shaped canyon landform in its infancy. The climate of the scenic spot belongs to temperate and cold temperate monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 4.7℃-16.5 ℃. The scenic area can be divided into three sections: upper tiger jump, middle tiger jump and lower tiger jump. The canyon is 80 kilometers away from the urban area of Lijiang City. The canyon is on the upper reaches of the Jinsha River, with a total length of 17 kilometers and a winding road of 25 kilometers. The vertical height difference of the canyon is more than 3900 meters. It is one of the deepest canyons in the world. Once due to landslides blocking the river, huge rocks have now become more turbulent, making the water flow even more turbulent.
